A special session to celebrate Women’s Day

On Friday March 6th the Women’s Soccer School advanced the celebration of the Women’s Day with a special session where more than 90 footballers of the school took part. The activity consisted of a 3×3 tournament where the squads were formed by players of all the ages, since the U10 to the members of the Mums team.

One of the aims of the WSS Barcelona is to boost the women referents in the sport, and that is why each team had the name of a woman that has singled out at his discipline: Marta Vieira, Vero Boquete, Homare Sawa, and Pia Sundhage (soccer), Laia Palau and Diana Taurasi (basketball), Serena Williams and Steffi Graff (tennis), Núria Picas (mountain running races), Nadia Comaneci and Simone Biles (gymnastics), Mireia Belmonte, Sarai Gascón and Missy Franklin (swimming), Ruth Beitia (height jump), Edurne Pasabán (mountain climbing), Jennifer Pareja (waterpolo), Andrea Fuentes and Ona Carbonell (synchronised swimming), Lindsey Vonn (skiing), Paula Radcliffe (athletics), Lydia Valentin (weightlifting), Stéphanie Frappart (referee) and Carolina Marín (badminton).
