An unforgettable practice

Sandra Paños is a benchmark not only for Catalan football but also for world football. Proof of this are the figures, which place her among the top 7 goalkeepers in the world at the level of great names like Sarah Bouhaddi, Almuth Schult or Hope Solo. Barça player and International with the Spanish national team since 2011 she is one of the goalkeepers with most experience and quality of the Iberdrola League. It is precisely for this reason that she stands among the most prominent idols of the young promises of football.

Yesterday, Monday, December 2, WSS goalkeepers had the privilege of sharing some time on the grass with their referent. It was a magic evening for any football lover, and above all, for any goalie. The meeting was held at the Fundació Brafa in Barcelona, organized by Nike and in collaboration with FC Barcelona.

The afternoon started with a chat of the players with the soccer player, where there was round of questions related to football. Girls had the opportunity to ask about her profession and keep a conversation with the goalie.

During the event, an hour-long training was performed with FC Barcelona’s professional and specific coaches. Three posts were prepared, and the players rotated to complete all the exercises. In the first place the air game was practiced, then they made shots and finally they faced in 1 against 1.

For the WSS players, learning with Paños has been an experience that they “will never forget” and face to face with the Barça player “has been something magical.”
